A Brief History of TAHITIAN NONI ® Juice
Thousands of years ago, people living on the islands of present
day; French Polynesia, discovered the powerful properties of a
fruit that grows in abundance in the region : the Noni fruit.
These people began using Noni in all of their preparations, making
it an important element of their civilization.
In 1993, food scientists John Wadsworth and Stephen Story discovered
Noni fruit through a friend who had recently returned from French
Polynesia.
They studied and researched the fruit for three years before
successfully developing the methods for harversting, processing,
and bottling the Noni's juice without sacrificing its critical
natural elements.
In July of 1996, they introduced TAHITIAN NONI ® Juice to
the United States. This is a significant achievement for several
reasons :
Noni juice had never been before on the market anywhere
in the world.
John and Stephen succeeded in overcoming the difficulties
involved in harvesting the fruit; it grows only in the wild and
must be harvested in the wild.
This tree bears fruit 365 days a year. Some of the biggest
trees called Morinda Citrofolia have grown to heights of up to
35' feet tall. The largest and most productive of these trees
can bear nearly two tons of fruit a month.
For people who are not raised around Noni fruit, it has
a slightly objectionable taste; John and Stephen were able to
overcome this taste using only natural fruit juices such as grape
juice and blueberry juice.
It is necessary to harvest Noni fruit at the correct stage
of maturity in order to maintain the quality of the juice.
The harvested fruit must be handled properly in order
to preserve the natural goodness.
